Grant Writting for Dummies CD July 29, 2010 Jennifer Jardine (Oregon) Does have a lot of information but it needs to have a workbook or PDF downloads to help you keep track of the resources and proceedures. Unless you know shorthand and can write or type as fast as the speaker is reading I recommend the book.
As far as the content - good - but I would suggest researching your funding sources first.
Solid Overview Combined with Specific Directions for How to Apply June 29, 2010 Professor Donald Mitchell (Thanks for Providing My Reviews over 97,000 Helpful Votes Globally) "Oh, that I might have my request,
That God would grant me the thing that I long for!" -- Job 6:8 (NKJV)
If you are totally new to looking for grants, Grant Writing for Dummies will save you a lot of time, effort, frustration, headaches, and expense. I have been dabbling in grant writing and knew that I was over my head. Any chapter of this well-thought-out book will be worth the book's cost to you.
I particularly liked the idea of becoming a grant reviewer, as a way to obtain a keener understanding of the decision-making process.
I was pleased to see that the book contains a complete example of a grant application narrative, which I found to be very helpful.
In addition, the author refers readers to lots of free resources (both online and off) that are sure to yield better opportunities.
I don't know how successful my future efforts will be, but I can at least be sure to be working on the right things in the right ways.
Thanks Dr. Browning!
interesting insight May 25, 2010 T. Sutherland (VA, USA) Purchased this book with a few others to get started on grant writing for a non-profit. Read the book front to back in less than a week because I enjoyed it so much. I found myself coming into my office each morning and checking out new websites from the book to help me. After reading the book, I truly understand what grantmakers are looking for in a proposal. Thank you so much!
Be careful May 16, 2010 B. Bailey (Philadelphia) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Be Careful when you order your books from this provider. The book I received was not the third edition that is advertised so when I tried to use the book it is the first edition and it did not have the updates I needed.
I have never had a response from the provider. Be careful you get what is advertised.
Grant Writing For Dummies May 5, 2010 Donna R. Navarrete (Wyoming) This book was ok and I was able to understand come of the concepts, but it is not for the dummy who has no knowledge at all of obtaining and writing for grants.
